New film experience for Swindon: Sofa Screenings Launches this week<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Create team are excited to offer something a little different for film lovers in and around Swindon \u2013 and it\u2019s right in the heart of our new studio space in Carriage Works!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are tired of traveling to find inspiring independent cinema, or want to connect with people like you who LOVE film – then our new Sofa Screenings are for you!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first programme covers universal themes of love, belonging, identity, ambition and the JOY of cinema – with content that\u2019s contemporary and award winning through to classics to re-visit in new company\u2026we look forward to seeing you on the sofas soon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sofa Screenings launches this week, with a great film on offer every Thursday and Friday evening through the Autumn and into next Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s fantastic to be launching a brand new offer for Swindon. Sofa screenings is the first in a series of initiatives that Create Studios will be sharing as part of a new 3-year British Film Institute Spotlight initiative in Swindon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire bringing the best of old and new film to audiences hungry to share screening experiences again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new initiative has been funded by the BFI awarding funds from National Lottery to enable Film Hub South West<\/a> (part of BFI film Audience Network (FAN)<\/a> to work at a more local level to develop the capacity and confidence of cinemas, community organisations and creatives to put on screenings of a wide range of films for local audiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based at Create Studios<\/a> in Swindon, Louise has been appointed to work with the Create Studios team to deliver this exciting new project.  Drawing on her extensive experience within film education and mentoring people within community settings, the Create team are excited to welcome Louise to the team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
